It's about giving Hope!

Sometimes I wonder if 12 Ordinary Women is making a difference...then the emails come in. They seem to come in bunches and the wash over my heart like a gentle wave. I read each one and cry, grateful that in small ways lives are being touched by the gifts that come from the hearts of women all over this country. They reassure me that in small, quiet ways peoples lives are being changed and they are given just a small dose of Hope, something to cling to in such difficult times for so many.

I recall the words of one of our charter members after her first delivery of a gift. She said,” I finally get it. It’s not about the money or the gift...it’s about giving Hope.”

Hope is a precious commodity in these seemingly hopeless times. I had the privilege this Sunday of meeting with newly formed group of 12 Ordinary Women. These women were exceptional in so many ways, they are young, fresh out of college, just starting their journeys and so genuinely committed to helping others. They know that each gift they give is about Hope and helping their recipient to know they are extravagantly loved by God and by 12 beautiful young women.

So I ask...how are you giving someone hope?

God cares even about the groceries!

Ladies,

One of you came by my house last week.  What a blessing.  My husband and I were entering on the toughest month we have had this year.  My husband lost his job several years ago, which has proved to be a blessing.  He now has a job he loves, but we were starting over.  He has worked three jobs for over three years.  We are gradually cutting his hours.  We have been getting finances in order for a couple of years, paying off student loans that have been around a while.  We are so blessed to be able to care for our four children in times like these.  We knew that this month was going to be tough.  Thanks to you, we are going to get by with breathing room.  What a wonderful group you must be.  You have made this family very happy knowing that people care and most of all that God cares-even about groceries....

Miracles do happen!!!

I went to go on a walk with some neighbors, I has seen a black dodge truck drive past us. I turned around and saw it had stopped at my house. I didn't go back i kept walking. I then saw the truck leave and I decided to call my mom. She answered in a strange voice and had told me to "come home". I then turned around walked back to my house to find a big back pack full of school supplies. My mom is crying and she is smiling. I didn't have a clue as to what was happening. We still to this moment do not know what just happened other than a miracle!!!We are very  overwhelmed with all that has happened in the past 3 hours.

I am loving the school supplies and I just want to thank you WE just want to thank you all for doing this. I guess miracles do happen :)

Thank You

Happy Tears in Louisiana

Thank You, just doesn't seem enough for the gift you gave my daughter and granddaughter today.( 7/28/11) She has been going through some really hard times the last few months. Today on the phone for the first time in a long time I heard happy tears. I am in Louisiana and she is in Tennessee. What you did for her was wonderful. And my grandchild is so happy for the school supplies. As I write this they are at the grocery store. My heart goes out to you and what you do. Please put my family in your prayers as we deal with a very emotional  and difficult time in our life.

We Thank you so very much. And God Bless you.

Wonderful gifts

To 12 Ordinary Women,
My children and I were the recipients of your wonderful gifts this past month.  I am overwhelmed by you kindness and feel truly blessed to have been considered for this honor.  Your note and thoughtfulness brought me to tears and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for thinking of us.  I means the world to me to know that I am not struggling alone.  My love to you all.  Lisa G

I feel supported.

Dear Women,

God's love is what I felt when handed the envelope from 12ordinary women.
I am so grateful to all of you for your generousity and prayers!  To say I was surprised somehow doesn't quite express
the range of emotion that filled my being!  I cried @ the beauty of how supported and loved by others, that I, was a recipient.

To say the money was needed would be an understatement, I had used the last of my cash the week before.
I have told many of your organization and how you surprised me, we all get tears. We are inspired.

I would have responded sooner but my computer died the week before and my son just sent me his old one.
God bless each and everyone of you!

Thank you all so much,

MDP

Upon opening, I sighed, smiled brightly

My Dear Sister/Women/Friends,

Today I was blessed with a visit from 5 angelic beings; 3 being under the age of 10, and their mothers.  We laughed,  talked, inquired, toured, hugged, and joyously shared our brief moments together. ( I believe that they came from the distant plantet of "Union Township ;-) !

And before these beings of light left my home this evening, they gifted me with yet another gift--in addition to their lovely presence.  Upon opening, I sighed, smiled brightly, and felt overwhelmed by the generosity of this group; beautiful music and gift cards.

And your Vision/Mission Statement is everything that I believe in twithin the depths of my heart.  What an auspicious occasion this is indeed !!!

Thank you, dear, beloved, friends, for your kindness, compassion, generosity, and most of all, your prayers.  I will continue to keep you in my daily prayers too !  May God continue to bless and keep you all in his loving care....

Peace, Love, Blessings,

from the bottom of my heart...

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. The fact that someone thought enough of my family to help us in our time of need, means the world to me. I hope that one day I can be on the giving end of this generous and wonderful group of women.

There are not enough words to express what this means.

Thank you,

A S and Family

Gift from Heaven.

Dear 12 Ordinary Women,

You are so dear to my family. We will never forget how we felt the box sent to us seemed like a gift from heaven.  We could feel the emotion and heart felt efforts put forth in making each note touch the heart.  The boys were made to feel special with their packages and letters. We appreciate your sacrificial giving to our family.  The grief we are experiencing is helped so much by your love and prayers.  Again, thank you for the special package that you gave to my boys and me during the tragic loss of our  dear husband and dad.
You will always hold a special plays in our hearts,
Sincerely,
J C and sons
