Blessed Beyond Measure

Dear Angels in Disguise,

Needless to say  I was speechless when you came to today, and I fear, I failed to show how much I appreciated your overwhelming kindness. You are what giving is truly all about.

Someday, I hope I can be a part of a group like you.

The verse on the card  ( Proverbs 10:22  " God's blessing makes life rich.") says it all.

I have a beautiful, healthy family, wonderful friends, and a job that I love. The Lord has

blessed me beyond measure.

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. You have certainly made my Christmas.

Thanks and love to each of you beautiful women,

B

I saw her cry because she felt Hope...

Dear 12 Ordinary Women,

I think you should change the name of your group. What you all do is extraordinary!

I cannot tell you what a difference you made in my family's life today. For the past five months it seems like we have only received bad news. Today we found out that my dad would be released to come home on Friday because the insurance will no longer cover his stay in rehab. My mom spent the morning crying because there is so much left to do and medical equipment left to buy for the house to be ready. She came back into the hospital room after receiving the gift with tears in her eyes. She said, "a woman just gave me a card and by the time I opened it and saw the money, she was gone." She said that she ran down the hall to the elevators and couldn't find her anywhere. She thought maybe the woman was an angel :) My mom sat down, put her face in her hands and cried. I've watched her cry a lot lately because she's scared, overwhelmed, heartbroken, etc.  For the first time in months I saw her cry because she felt hope and encouragement. That part was a wonderful gift for me. I also saw her feel relief because something GOOD finally happened. She looked up the website and still can't believe that strangers could be so generous and loving. The money will be a huge help in preparing the house for my dad to come home. More than the money thank you for giving me and my mom hope that things will be ok and showing us that we are not alone. I will never forget this day.

Love to everyone of you,

M

So many thanks for their friends and want to get involved...

Seldom does a day go by that someone, somewhere doesn’t email us to let us know how we have touched the life of someone they care deeply about. The gift of Hope travels so much farther then we ever could have imagined. Below are just a sample of what has come in this past few days....

I would like to know how to get involved with what you do or how to start my own group? Your group blessed someone very dear to me today and words can not express my gratitude.  K

I would like more information about your group.  I very recently learned about it from someone who experienced the loss of a family member and your group assisted her.  DP

My friend received a basket from you that touched her heart so much.  I would love to know more how I could get involved in the wonderful group. SB

I haven't been able to let go of the idea of 12 ordinary women.  Please send me some info on how to start one, k?  And thank you for your heart to serve and bless others.  God is using you in so many ways.  JS

I received information on your group this past week and reviewed your website. I would love to get information on either forming a group or joining a local group. What an amazing thing you are all doing. EC

All I can say is "WOW!"

All I can say is "Wow!"

A visitor just came to my door with an incredible gift.  The number of people who have blessed us both through tonight's visitor and so many others around us is amazing.  I never would have imagined that so much good could come out of my husband's sudden job loss.  I'm at a loss for words ... and those who know me know that that doesn't happen often.  Thank you doesn't feel like enough but since I'll never know who made this gift happen that's all I have for now.  Please know that the good that has been shown to us will be passed on to others around me.

Things are turning around for me...

Ladies,

I greatly appreciate your kind gift.

It arrived on the same day as some new medical bills.  I thought all my medical bills had stopped coming, so these new bills were more than a bit of shock and the money was a truly a huge help.  I can't thank you enough.  Things are really turning around for me though.  Again thanks your help and your thoughtfulness.

You Touched My Heart!

OMG! I first want to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I'm really really grateful for it all. The cards touched my heart dearly. I needed  the words of encouragement to help carry me through. Everyone said things that reminded me that my strength is forever renewed through this journey of life. Though some days seem harder than others, my faith, my daughter and my belief in God keeps me holding my head up high. You ladies are definitely heaven sent...angels. The two women who delivered my gift were awesome...I named them Joy and Peace. Again, we thank you very much. I pray that God continues using all of you for HIS benefit and that you all continue being willing to let HIM do so. I love you and may your lives be blessed more abundantly;-)

A Grateful Solider!

I just wanted to send a quick note to tell you how much I appreciate what you are doing to support the men and women of our military. A few weeks ago as I was walking through the reception line at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport on my way to my mid-tour leave I was a lucky recipient of a white 5x8 envelope that was handed to me by a lovely lady who was one of hundreds of people there to receive us.  As I was riding the bus to another terminal to catch my flight to Seattle I opened the envelope to find a card with the picture of 12 women wearing cowboy hats standing on a bridge. The picture is great, but the note inside (and the unexpected $50) meant the world to me. Knowing that through these rough times there are people who still take the time to show their support for the military really makes a Solider feel great about what they’re doing.  The reception at DFW and the contents of the little white envelope were a great way to start my R&R. From the bottom of my heart I want to say Thank You!

Sincerely,

A Grateful Soldier

It's about giving Hope!

Sometimes I wonder if 12 Ordinary Women is making a difference...then the emails come in. They seem to come in bunches and the wash over my heart like a gentle wave. I read each one and cry, grateful that in small ways lives are being touched by the gifts that come from the hearts of women all over this country. They reassure me that in small, quiet ways peoples lives are being changed and they are given just a small dose of Hope, something to cling to in such difficult times for so many.

I recall the words of one of our charter members after her first delivery of a gift. She said,” I finally get it. It’s not about the money or the gift...it’s about giving Hope.”

Hope is a precious commodity in these seemingly hopeless times. I had the privilege this Sunday of meeting with newly formed group of 12 Ordinary Women. These women were exceptional in so many ways, they are young, fresh out of college, just starting their journeys and so genuinely committed to helping others. They know that each gift they give is about Hope and helping their recipient to know they are extravagantly loved by God and by 12 beautiful young women.

So I ask...how are you giving someone hope?

God cares even about the groceries!

Ladies,

One of you came by my house last week.  What a blessing.  My husband and I were entering on the toughest month we have had this year.  My husband lost his job several years ago, which has proved to be a blessing.  He now has a job he loves, but we were starting over.  He has worked three jobs for over three years.  We are gradually cutting his hours.  We have been getting finances in order for a couple of years, paying off student loans that have been around a while.  We are so blessed to be able to care for our four children in times like these.  We knew that this month was going to be tough.  Thanks to you, we are going to get by with breathing room.  What a wonderful group you must be.  You have made this family very happy knowing that people care and most of all that God cares-even about groceries....
