Thank you from Woodbury, Mn

It was a typical Saturday afternoon. I worked 15 hours the day before so I had just gotten up from a nap and went out to get my mail. In my mailbox was a small package with no return address. I was a little confused because I had not ordered anything lately. My hours at work had been changed about two months ago so with the job change I took about an $800 monthly pay cut (the job change had not been my choice). To say the least making rent and paying the bills was not going very well. I had been late with my rent for the last two months. When I opened the box there was a small book of daily devotions, two gift cards, and a towel that was embroidered with the saying “I said a prayer for you today”. I am always busy making things by hand-rughooking, weaving, tapestry, knitting so my receiving this hand made towel is truly special. I know that someone took the time to embroider on the towel and to me that is very special. I have felt truly alone going through all of this with work. It warms my heart knowing that “12 Ordinary Women” that I don't even know took the time to put this little gift box together for me. It makes me feel a little less alone and it gives me hope that people still care about one another in our world today. I feel so blessed to have received this gift. Thank you so much…. ~Carol

Davidson NC thank you.

I wanted to thank you for the monetary gift last evening. After many years of a mentally abusive marriage, I found the courage to get out of the situation. The fear of the unknown is almost overwhelming – like standing on the edge of a skyscraper and jumping, weak knees and a trembling heart. But doing nothing was only increasing the pain – so I jumped. I am grateful to all of you for providing a safety net, words of thanks almost seem silly. But I hope to be in a position soon to return the favor. Each day brings strength to keep going.

With appreciation,

Michele

Orlando/Windermere thank you.

Dear Faith & Hope, What a total surprise you were a few minutes ago, showing up on my doorstep. My heart is singing and is so filled with hope, faith & joy. My day started off watching the sun rise, which I have never done while living in this home. It began praising and worshipping our Lord who amazes me over and over again. God must have been speaking to me as soon as I opened the door, because I never even thought you could be intruders. I immediately felt peace & comfort with you two. As you know I just can't stop wondering who told you our story…was it a friend, an acquaintance, someone that worked with my husband? Well, it really doesn't matter, it was God. I would like to thank you both and the other 10 women as well, and if one of the 12 isn't who told you my story--PLEASE pass on my heartfelt gratitude to the person(s) who shared my story with you. What a wonderful story I have to share with everyone. Not to mention I want to be involved with your organization!!! I am going to pray about this and see if God may lead me here. Thank you for the more than kind & generous gift. Mostly though I would like to thank you for the prayer today and for the prayers of all 12 of you on my families behalf the last couple of months. Please continue to pray for us when we cross your mind. It is more than appreciated! Thank you again & again & again. God is so good! I will get through this with His guidance. Much love to all 12 of you mystery women. ❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼❤️

A Franklin TN thank you.

I live in Franklin, TN and received two generous gifts last week. One was in the mailbox in a beautiful card with Bible verses and the other was hand delivered to my husband when I was away. It also was in a beautiful card with Bible verses and a card from 12 Ordinary Women. This was so touching to our entire family. Our three teenage girls could not believe how thoughtful and sweet this was coming from anonymous woman! I immediately thought of the 12 disciples of Christ who were 12 ordinary men. The Lord has been so very faithful to us! This gift touched my heart so deeply and it was truly needed at this time! I love the necklace with the tree of life and “HOPE” written on it. I will wear this each day to remind me of these women who cared enough about me to send this wonderful anonymous gift!!! You are not ordinary, but extraordinary and I know that the Lord is so pleased with you all! Thank you again for bringing me hope, love, kindness, and compassion! I will remember this all of my life and be forever thankful for your generosity! May the Lord bless each one of you!

Thank you for the lovely gift

Today I got a call from a nice lady who said someone would be making a delivery soon from Twelve Ordinary Women, and she wanted to make sure someone would be at home. A short while later, a nice couple arrived to drop off some lovely flowers, two coolers filled with prepared foods packaged for the freezer, a pretty silver angel ornament, and a book by Sarah Young, a favorite Christian author. I think they were just going to leave their bounty on the porch, and go, but my husband saw them first. When he asked who sent the gift, the lady directed him to the note enclosed with the gifts, which in turn directed me to this website, which has been my first knowledge of Twelve Ordinary Women. What a wonderful idea to provide help for someone going through a rough time! I was diagnosed with an incurable cancer over seven years ago, and am now in the later stages of the disease. I have a lot of bone issues and use a walker, but I can no longer stand to do much of anything in the kitchen. My sweet, wonderful, husband is a great caregiver, but he isn't a cook, so meals have become somewhat of a problem, though our church has been a great help. I asked my husband sometime recently if he regretted never learning how to cook, and he replied, “no, but I'll bet you regret it!”. This gift of food for the two of us is so very nice and thoughtful, and we are so appreciative. It will go a long way towards feeding us, and will be a great help for my husband when it comes to preparing meals. My immunity stays low because of chemo and the cancer, so even going out to eat isn't really possible anymore. I certainly haven't lost hope because of nice people like you, and I know I'm in God's hands so no matter what happens, I will be O.K., but it's kind folks like you that act as God's ministers that help keep me going one day at a time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness.

What a sweet, sweet surprise! Thank you!

The last four months have been life changing for all of us. Watching a child battle cancer is not something you would wish on anyone. However, this journey has been filled with blessings that we would never have experienced without the diagnosis…so we are thanking God for all things, even cancer. Your kindness is another reminder that on days when it seems like people have forgotten what we have been through, people do in fact remember… and care. May our good God return to each of you the blessing bestowed on me today.

Elizabethtown KY thank you.

Today my mom called me to tell me she had a delivery from Elizabethtown, KY. She had no idea what it could be. She called me in tears to tell me that she had received her gift. When she opened it she found a Willow Tree Angel Surrounded By Love and money in a card. She has no idea who or where it came from. She would like to Thank Everyone who sent it to her from the bottom of her heart. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer on September 2nd, 2015. She has already had two chemo treatments and surgery will be in November. Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts sent. I am sending this for her on her behalf. Thanks her daughter Stephanie Love Janice

An ordinary day thank you.

An ordinary day where I was dealing with my austistc son's random meltdowns, we just happened to make our way to the porch because he was wanting to calm down and had said he would do so only with me. It was at that moment that we discovered our beautiful, unexpected gift. He all of s sudden became so excited, from tears to pure joy. We brought it out to the driveway and waited a few minutes for my daughter to get off the bus. When she arrived, my son ran over and told her that we had received a gift. And boy, what a gift we had never expected! We could not believe the thought, the care, the generosity and the heart that played into making this amazing gift for our family! We are still stunned! Thank you for blessing our family with renewed hope, with joy, with compassion and with complete love. We will pay this act of random love and kindness forward because that is truly what life should be about. We may not be able to be asgenerous finacially but we can definitely show love and kindness andrandom acts of even the smallest generosity to make someone's day. You all went above and beyond that. We are so thankful! Blessings and much love to you!!!!!!
